Two years after the first time Nike and designer Don C of Just Don worked together on a project, the business teamed up with Just Don once more to create a limited-edition version of the Air Jordan Is specifically for Black History Month.
On the occasion of the 39th anniversary of Black History Month, which took place in February 2015, 39 pairs of limited-edition Air Jordan I High Straps were produced in order to raise funds for charitable organizations.

In addition to the eight pairs, Michael Jordan and Tinker Hatfield signed one additional pair of each design for a total of nine autographed pairs. The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital was able to receive approximately $22,400 as a result of the sale.
