Keegan Ritchie came close to getting a goal back for John Maduka’s men just before the hour mark with a smashing free-kick from the edge of the box that was brilliantly parried away by shot-stopper Bruce Bvuma. Ngcobo had a chance to score a third goal for Chiefs with a curling effort towards the far post on minute 65, but Ndlovu made a diving save to deny the attempt. Chiefs were still a threat moving forward, and Ngcobo had the opportunity.

Zwane made two substitutions in the final 10 minutes of the game to save some energy. Siyethemba Sithebe was replaced by Njabulo Blom, while Dolly was taken off the field and replaced by Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Amakhosi were able to restore their rhythm as the game came to a close, and Amakhosi’s replacement Mduduzi Shabalala made it 3-0 for the home team with a tap-in goal in stoppage time after Billiat had sent a square pass.
