“Arthur is someone who grew up at Chiefs and has a complete knowledge of our culture. He is known as “the guy who grew up at Chiefs.” When we selected the Sporting Director and the Head of Technical the year before, we did mention that we desired for them to collaborate with individuals who are familiar with our ideology. This is significant because the coach is always in contact with those two individuals,” the Chairman said further.

Zwane was given the opportunity to gather experience on the international stage when he was selected to serve as an assistant coach for Bafana Bafana in the years 2020 and 2021. He did so while working alongside Molefi Ntseki, who is currently the Head of Technical and Development for Kaizer Chiefs.

“It is no secret that we have had a lot of hard seasons over the last several years,” said Kaizer Motaung Jr., the Sporting Director of the Kaizer Chiefs, who played alongside Zwane. “We have had a number of challenging seasons.” We have been forced to make significant adjustments in order to go in the direction that we are certain will set us up for sustained success in the long run. We are certain that our fans and everyone else who is connected with the Kaizer Chiefs brand will soon have a reason to celebrate in the not too distant future.

“His in-depth grasp of the Kaizer Chiefs playing style and his tremendous work ethic were two of the primary factors that led to the club’s decision to select Arthur Zwane as head coach. Because of his forward-thinking and cutting-edge approach to the sport, Motaung Jr. believes that he is the best possible option to steer this one-of-a-kind endeavor into the future.

Dillon Sheppard, who started working for the Chiefs in 2020 as an assistant coach, will provide assistance to Coach Zwane.

Sheppard is a graduate of the School of Excellence and spent 19 years playing professional football for a variety of teams in the top division both locally and overseas (including Russia and Greece).
